These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of OSCE AIde — the website at osceaide.com and the OSCE AIde application (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by OSCE AIde, based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What the Service is — and what it is not
OSCE AIde is an independent, AI-powered study tool that lets you practise spoken clinical-communication scenarios ("stations") with an AI partner, in a format designed to help you prepare for UK dental examination OSCEs. You speak, the AI responds, and you receive automated feedback on your communication.
- Practice tool, not exam provider. The Service is a revision and communication-practice aid only. Stations are original scenarios created by OSCE AIde — they are not official exam questions, past papers, or material provided by or associated with any examining body. We make no claim that our content reflects the exact content, format, or marking of any real examination.
- Fully independent. OSCE AIde is not affiliated with, endorsed by, approved by, or connected in any way to the General Dental Council (GDC), the Overseas Registration Exam (ORE), the Royal College of Surgeons, or any other examining, regulatory, or professional body. Use of terminology such as "OSCE" describes the practice format only — not a formal examination product.
- Not clinical advice. The Service must never be used to guide the care of real patients. All clinical information should be verified against authoritative sources such as NICE, SDCEP, and the GDC's own published guidance.
- No guarantee of results. We make no promise that using the Service will result in passing any examination.
- AI-generated content. Responses, role-play, and marking are generated by artificial intelligence. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent. You are responsible for independently verifying any information you rely on.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
- You must provide accurate information, keep your login credentials confidential, and notify us of any suspected unauthorised use of your account.
- Your account is personal to you and is limited to two (2) registered devices. Sharing an account, or reselling access, is not permitted.
- Account sharing. We monitor usage to protect fair access for all subscribers. Where we reasonably determine an account is being shared, or is being accessed from more than the permitted number of devices, we may suspend access for up to three (3) months, and in cases of repeated or deliberate misuse may terminate the account without refund. Where practical, we will contact you first and give you the chance to explain.
3. Free trial
New accounts receive a free trial consisting of one designated station, which may be attempted up to two (2) times. No payment details are required for the trial. After the trial is used, a subscription is required for further practice. We may change the trial's scope for new users at any time.
4. Subscriptions, billing, and the daily usage limit
- Plans. Paid access is by subscription: monthly (£49.99), every 3 months (£129.99), or every 6 months (£249.99). Prices are in GBP and are shown at checkout. Prices include UK VAT where applicable.
- Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
- Fair-use limit. Live practice is powered by real-time AI, which has genuine running costs. Subscriptions therefore include up to 3 hours of live practice per day, resetting at midnight (UK time). This is a fair-use ceiling designed to be more than sufficient for exam preparation. Other features (reviewing debriefs, study materials, progress) are not time-limited.
- Cancellation. You may cancel at any time via the "Manage subscription" option. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not provide partial refunds for unused time within a billing period, except where required by law.
- Price changes. We may change subscription prices. Changes take effect at your next renewal, and we will give you reasonable advance notice so you can cancel first if you wish.
5. Your right to cancel (14-day cooling-off)
If you are a consumer in the UK, you normally have a legal right to cancel a purchase of digital services within 14 days. By purchasing a subscription you request immediate access to the Service and acknowledge that, once you begin using the paid Service within the 14-day period, you lose the right to a full statutory refund for that period. If you have purchased but not yet used any paid access, you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase by contacting us.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- attempt to bypass, probe, or interfere with the Service's access controls, usage limits, or payment systems;
- use automated tools to access the Service, scrape content, or place excessive load on it;
- copy, distribute, resell, or publicly share station content, model answers, or marking materials;
- use the Service to generate content that is unlawful or harmful, or attempt to make the AI act outside its intended purpose;
- use the Service in connection with the care of real patients.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these Terms. Where practical we will warn you first.
7. Intellectual property
All station content, study materials, software, branding, and design of the Service are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the Service for your own exam preparation while your account is in good standing. Feedback and transcripts generated during your sessions are yours to use for your personal study.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service depends on third-party providers (including hosting, database, payment, and AI providers), and outages or changes on their side can affect it. We may modify, add, or remove features, or update station content, at any time. If we permanently discontinue the paid Service, we will refund the unused portion of any active subscription.
9. Disclaimers and liability
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties.
- We are not liable for exam outcomes, or for decisions made in reliance on AI-generated content.
- Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited under UK law.
- Otherwise, our total liability to you arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect and how we use it. It forms part of these Terms.
11. General
- These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction (though if you live elsewhere in the UK you may rely on the consumer protections and courts of your home nation).
- If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email, and continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
